I have sky broadband and I am getting a poor wireless connection it can be slow and cuts out from time to time. This is really annoying, Sky technical support asked me to connect the yellow Ethernet cable in and the connection is A1. This rules out the sky broadband connection, as they won't let me use my own router is there any way I can improve my wireless strength.

Hi John,

You can try stuff like changing the channels, moving the router to a higher position, move any electrical equipment that is nearby the router, if you have the first router made by sky (white netgear) then double check the wireless aerial, to make sure it is tight and try moving the position.

If you have the other router from sky (black sagem or netgear) try everything above (except the aerial thing of course these are internal) and try changing the box from a horizontal position to a vertical position and vice versa.

If none of that works you could look at an extended Ethernet cable, or for the (white box) you could try a 12DBi High Gain Aerial (not guaranteed to improve the connection). You don't have to purchase from here, I have included links to the site to show you examples. If you buy from this site you get full after sales support though. i.e. skype chat
